This Olympic-inspired poster was the final product of a semester–long exploration of the object: a medal. Titled Citius Altius Fortius—the official Olympic motto meaning “Faster, Higher, Stronger”—the design connects historical context with modern data. A half–pie chart highlights the top five countries with the most gold medals, featuring scaled flags and type that visually match each nation's share. Below, a timeline tracks the evolution of Olympic medal designs from 1904 to 2024. While the Games originated in ancient Greece, the design draws from the broader classical world, with a Latin title, the Trajan typeface, and a subtle stone wall texture evoking the carved inscriptions and timeless feel of Greco–Roman architecture—bridging the past and present of Olympic tradition.
