This Orihon-style booklet transforms interview research into an interactive visual narrative inspired by the Hero's Journey. After interviewing a classmate and synthesizing recurring themes from the conversation, I developed a continuous accordion-fold design that explores personal growth through the universal structure of storytelling. Rather than treating each panel as an individual composition, the project was designed as one connected experience that unfolds as the viewer interacts with it.
The physical format became an essential part of the storytelling. When folded, the first and last panels resemble the opening and closing pages of a book, inviting viewers to "open" the narrative and reveal the journey within. Inside, six connected panels illustrate the progression from Struggle, to Grow, to Thrive, using visual metaphors inspired by the Hero's Journey alongside imagery drawn from my interviewee's experiences and interests. The reverse side continues the book metaphor through a leather-bound cover, reinforcing the cyclical nature of both the physical object and the story itself while allowing viewers to experience individual scenes or unfold the complete narrative at once.
